UTVs offer an ideal way to get you and your fellow thrill-seekers out of the house and on the trails! Before you take your UTV out for a spin though, you’ll want to be versed in essential safe practices to keep you, your loved ones, and your fellow drivers protected at all times.

Team Mancuso Southwest of Houston, TX, does our best to educate our customers on the do’s and don’ts while making memories on their UTVs. Here are a few tips to keep in mind the next time you go off-roading!

Protective Gear

It’s essential that you and all your passengers are equipped with the proper safety equipment before hopping on your ATV. This may include items such as safety goggles, long-sleeves, protective footwear/boots, etc. These articles reduce your risk of injury so you can focus on enjoying the ride!

Avoid Paved Roads

UTVs are designed to perform off-road and should remain on the trails at all times. Remaining on designated trails will ensure you don’t lose control of your UTV and will also prevent collisions with other drivers on paved roads. Be sure to follow all trail markers and signs to help avoid any accidents.

Do Not Exceed Passenger Capacity

A UTV is a high-powered vehicle designed for speed and performance. To that end, make sure not to overcrowd your UTV with excessive passengers. It’s best to adhere to your seating limits to avoid control challenges while driving and passenger injuries while you’re trekking through the trails.
